Employee violence continues to plague America's workplace. Remarkably, some companies continue to operate without a written plan for either identifying potential at-risk employees or for responding to such an event should it occur. What's worse, those that have a plan on the shelf that has never been tested or shared with staff. Just as companies must prepare for fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, pandemic events and the like, so too should they prepare to address the potential for a workplace violence incident. Planning, awareness and training for everyone in your workforce are the keys to recognizing potential problems and in managing such an event should it occur in your workplace.
